Josh Cope’s Biography
Dr. Josh Cope grew up on a farm in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. With his father, a large and small animal veterinarian himself, Cope spent much time growing up treating animals at his father’s clinic. He also joined in his father’s hobby, raising Standardbred race horses, and spent much of his childhood watching their own horses at the tracks. Dr. Cope’s family was intimately involved in agriculture: various family members owned a swine farm, a dairy farm, a chicken farm, and an animal feed plant. It is not hard to believe that Dr. Cope would end up pursuing a career with animals.
Dr. Cope graduated valedictorian of his high school class and spent the next eight years at the Ohio State University. Dr. Cope received a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in biology, and ultimately, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree four years later. During school, Cope gained valuable experience in a variety of veterinary practices, including Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach, Florida; the Smithsonian National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C.; a holistic veterinary clinic in Bethesda, Maryland; and a specialty surgery clinic in Boise, Idaho.
Currently, Dr. Cope works as a small animal veterinarian at Town East Galloway Animal Clinic in Mesquite, Texas. He regularly treats all varieties of household pets, and performs some specialty surgeries along with his love for ultrasonography. Josh lives in Sunnyvale, Texas with his beautiful wife Kristin, and they have 2 furry children “Sugar” and “Jasmine.”
